Stage I/ Dec. 2011

·                      Rare-earth (Sm, Eu, Pr and Dy) doped phosphate glasses were prepared and investigated

·                      The doped glasses were compositional (Induced Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry and X-ray fluorescence), mechanical-thermal (thermal expansion, characteristic temperatures, thermal effects), optical (UV-Vis-NIR transmission, fluorescence), structural and morphological (FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, SEM) characterized

·                      The operating principle of the non-contact sensor based on speckle effect was described

·                      It is proposed a simulation of both the designed integrated system and the sensitive parts by means of the combined applications of the Convertor / Simax / Simulink program

·                      There are presented: the theoretical concept of the project, the measurement principle and the sensitive parts specification, the integration principle of the optical measurement system (1D and 2D measurements), the functionality of the measurement system, the technical characteristics of the optical system’s components, the CCD camera and the adjacent lens

·                       The specific characteristics  and the great potential of the designed measurement system allow the development of multiple applications for different combinations of the sensitive elements of the instrumental measurement and metrological systems

·                       The standard deviation for determining the angular translation has put in evidence the 0.3 mdeg value, confirming the initial theoretical estimation

·                       According to the simulation results, the optical measurements system developed in the frame of project ensure the determinations independence effectuated by following factors: (i) the distance to the measured object; (ii) every longitudinal and transversal movement of the measured object; (iii) the wavelength of the source; (iv) the form of the measured object; (v) the beam of the angular movement

•           The dissemination of the research results was materialized by scientific communications presented in the context of international events and by publishing articles in ISI journals
